UTC Spectrum Services has a unique frequency notification service called Frequency Guard Plus. The Frequency Guard service is a frequency notification system that advises clients by email when applications are filed with the FCC that meet the client’s specified search criteria. Each week, UTC Spectrum Services downloads the pending application database from the FCC and scans it for new applications which meet the clients search criteria. For each “hit” Frequency Guard Plus provides the following information:
- Applicant Entity Name
- Application ULS File Number
- Application Coordinator Name and Coordination Date
- Application Frequency
- Application Distance to Target Client Record in km
- Application Distance to Target Client Record in miles
- Application Bearing to Target Client Record in degrees
- HTML Format Emails
- Links to email for assistance, and UTC Web sites of interest
Clients will specify channels by providing the data listed below in electronic form (Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or comma separated variable (CSV) text file):
- Site ID
- Frequency in MHz (mobile/remote channels must be listed separately, or will not be included in the service)
- Latitude (DD-MM-SS format)
- Longitude (DDD-MM-SS format)
- Bandwidth in kHz
- Protection Radius in km, 200 km maximum

- Services are contracted and paid annually
- Services are provided weekly via the email address provided by the client
- UTC Spectrum Services will not be liable for bounced or undeliverable email
- Services are dependent on successful download of weekly pending application data from the FCC. If FCC data is not available, or that data is corrupt, weekly emails will be sent within 24 hours of successful data download.
- There will be no prorated refunds should the client cancel the service mid-year
- Frequencies added mid-year will be billed at the full year price
- Multiple email notifications are available but all notifications will go to multiple recipients
- Client must renew prior to the expiration of the service or risk another set-up fee
- Volume discounts are available
